Brave New World

The NCAA reached a historic $2.7 billion settlement in a lawsuit that ultimately ends "amateurism" as we know it. Players can now be paid. Though the devil remains in the details, and how this ultimately effects college hockey in particular, is an open question. CHN will have much more on this in the coming weeks.

The 2021 Frozen Four, from Pittsburgh. Massachusetts won its first national championship with a 5-0 win over St. Cloud State in the final. Both semis were tight, with UMass knocking off two-time defending champ Minnesota Duluth in OT, and SCSU defeating Minnesota State, 5-4, on a late regulation goal. All images by Matt Dewkett.
