CJ Foreign Car

Been here a few times with two different cars and got great service every time. Better communication and price than what I got at the dealership.

An honest auto shop with friendly customer service? I'm sure you think such a utopia is impossible, but CJ Foreign Car (because of Vlad) really is that. I got my Porsche serviced here twice after failed repairs at Porsche Bethesda. During my 1st visit, Vlad identified a potentially costly issue (with the catalytic converter), but instead of telling me I had to pay the full amount ($6k) to fix the issue, he looked for cheaper alternatives, and saved me nearly $3k on a solution that still addressed the problem and allowed my car to pass inspection. He totally could have made more money off of me, but he actively didn't. He cared for me personally, and wanted me to get the best deal possible.

During my 2nd visit, Vlad identified an issue with my right rear axle. He ordered in the parts to perform the repair, but when he ran into a problem with a parts mismatch (that wasn't his fault), he was forthcoming/honest about it and recommended I bring the car to a dealer instead. Once again, Vlad wasn't out to make money off me, and instead was honest, caring, and wanted me to get the best repair possible (even if it wasn't with him).

The labor charges at CJ can't be beat at any other shop I've been to in the DMV area. If you want honest service that cares more about you than making money off you, I highly recommend CJ and Vlad. People like Vlad are a reminder of the good of humanity, and I will continue to use CJ as my go-to auto shop going forward.

I went here because they had such solid reviews and I drive an older model Audi. I went get an estimate for normal servicing and to order the parts I need ahead of time. Audi Arlington provided a print out of the exact parts I needed. So when I drop my car off for servicing it's all done the same day.

I offered to pay for the parts and asked to make an appointment. The never emailed or called and never allowed me to make an appointment. I wonder how they get 4 stars

Horrible! Do not go here; I've had brakes, an alignment and oil change completed here, all with questionable quality. I had to drive to four different shops to get an oil change because CJ stripped my drain plug.

Overpriced and poor quality work! Call European Sport Garage in Laurel; they fixed what CJ damaged and the repair and oil change came in cheaper than what CJ charged me.

Ridiculous!

I went here back in May 2019 and had a water pump and thermostat replaced on a 535 and it was only 60% of the cost the Alexandria BMW dealer wanted to charge me. Vlad was a consummate professional and I plan on bringing my car here whenever I need major repairs done to keep my car running smoothly.

Customer service is not how it used to be. I tried to make an appointment when shop was busy and was told to google another foreign car specialist in the area. Not the answer I was expecting for being a loyal customer.

Have been a customer for a couple of years. Has provided consistently excellent service on a 5-series BMW, both in terms of diagnostics and repair work, with fair pricing.

This place was freaking awesome!! I took my Volkswagen Passat to CJ Foreign Car and was charged 30% of what the dealership was charging. Great customer service and great communicator!!!!

I have been a customer at CJ Foreign Car for decades. I am always impressed at the careful and dedicated attention that they give to my car. I used to take my Mercedes there and now am taking my BMW as the warranty had expired. Hands down, the price is fair and accurate, I have no concerns at all. If you are looking for nice lounges, coffee service etc. this is not the place for you! It does not matter to me as long as the work is done and the cost is reasonable and a win-win situation for all!

Maybe not the cheapest option around, but these guys are reliable for quality work and good service. Current manager Vlad is a gem of a car mechanic. He didn't charge me for small stuff, is always kind and courteous, and has even recommended when I could do better on some repairs at another shop. These guys are playing the long game of good service for customer loyalty. Recommended.
