Entertainer's Paradise at 850 Bay

New, 7 comments
Yesterday we gave you a sneak peek of 850 Bay, the $6.5M single-family home that just hit the MLS. Today, the full tour of the property, exclusive to Curbed SF.

Our eyes bulged at the price tag of $6,500,000, but they almost fell out of our head when we got to experience the roof deck. We think you could throw some pretty swinging parties at 850 Bay - from top to bottom, there's a deck and a bar for everyone. Sure, it's really only got three bedrooms (though the bottom floor may be considered an additional studio), but each one has its own bar. Your very own elevator will take you to each of the four full floors, each all the more full because the builder extended the original house 25 feet. There's a lot to take in here, inside and out.

The upstairs bedrooms are described as each being "master suites," and honestly, we can't decide which one to move into - there are decks, open baths, and access to the roof to consider. The backyard has its very own yoga studio and more bench seating than you can shake a stick at. There are Nano walls leading out to each of the three decks, providing for full walls of windows. The main kitchen was designed by Arclinea and has Miele appliances and a hammered granite countertop. Downstairs has its own full kitchen as well.

This house is beautiful, but it's clearly a party house. We can only imagine the nouveau-Gatsby style soiree you could throw here, guests on the roof, warmed by heat lamps, overlooking the sparkling lights of the bay while sipping something sparkly. It makes us feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

While we were taking our tour last night, some very impressed firefighters showed up. Turns out some very conscientious neighbors called the fire department called them over flames on the roof. Isn't it nice to know the people of Russian Hill are looking out for you? Just make sure to invite them to your parties, or expect a similar visit.

We mean this in the most flattering way possible - this house is a mullet. A business, Victorian in front, and a beautiful, modern party in the back.
