Buffalo Bulls quarterback Joe Licata out until June

And Just like that spring training just got a lot more interesting. Tony Daniel, Colin Michael, and Craig Slowik are all going to see more snaps during the spring practices than they would have otherwise seen.

Licata has brought stability to the quarterback position since 2008 and the end of the Drew Willy era. The Bulls recently lost their quarterbacks coach Don Patterson to UConn and Quinn has yet to name a replacement.  The new coach will have to wait until August to get a good look at UB's starting signal caller.

Hip injuries can linger for awhile so the longer Licata can let it heal the better the Bulls will be. Still losing those days where he could have developed a chemistry with the new receivers could mean some rust will need to be shaken off this summer.

Joe Licata and Collin Michael are traditional pocket passers. They are not incredibly mobile guys who function best when provided a pocket to work in.

Tony Daniel has had good spring games in the past and made a play in 2011 which that was the difference in Buffalo's win over Miami. From what I have seen he is a lot like Alex Zordich. He's not a dynamic runner but he is a guy with the instincts to use his legs more than Licata or Michael.
