A diesel vehicle is said to be green because it offers better fuel economy than gasoline and ultimately produces less carbon monoxide. Diesels are slowly making a comeback to the U.S. despite memories of noisy engines and the black soot or smoke that emitted from the exhaust system. Newer diesel vehicles have become much quieter and better at capturing the residual carbon particles for better efficiency, nearly elminating the production of soot.
