"Handsome in HD" Mod

This mod is a high-resolution face and body re-texture of default Dante and Vergil. Their facial features have been completely remade in order to look more mature, less angry, and overall just more charming. I was very successful with the human skin texture due to my background in portrait photography but had a hard time making the clothing textures look good. Maybe someone can help me on that?

You will need TexMod for this unfortunately and be warned that it is a large file (223mb). The textures are uncompressed for max quality which is why the tpf is so huge. You will have to wait 30 seconds to a minute for the game to load when you are using this. Make sure you max the graphic settings in the options menu.

Version 3:
Removed some of the clothing to make the file smaller. Added more detail to the face and eyes.

The neutral facial expressions you created with this mod are way too feminine for my taste, especially Dante's

The eyes make them look like dogs begging for a treat

As a result, haircut also looks out of place

I actually like Dante's original eyebrows, especially the slight cut on his right one

Anyway. this goes in a strange direction for what some would consider "handsome" but in terms of modding quality, it is quite good

If I had known reception was going to be so negative, I wouldn't have put the work into releasing this.

I am not trying to be a negative nancy, I am just critiquing your mod based on my understanding of its assumed purpose; to make Dante and Vergil "handsome"

I, PERSONALLY, do not feel that giving them 5 o'clock shadow and altering their facial features in the way that you have achieves this purpose - as I said before, they look more feminine in my opinion

I understand that "handsome" does not necessarily mean "hyper-masculine" which allows for some femininity in a male's features, but this mod throws off the balance of masculine and feminine features for my idea of a handsome male - I prefer the originals

With that being said, your modding quality is excellent (5/5 stars) and I would love to see more mods from you, but I will not be using this mod because, for me, it does not make Dante/Vergil more attractive/handsome

Wow, he looks good. I'd love to use this mod, but for some reason my game won't start when I try to load this package via TextMod. It sits at the black screen upon launching for a couple of minutes (waited up to 10) until it eventually crashes. When I use this mod I make sure it's the only package that's on the list in TexMod in case that has anything to do with it, but it's to no avail. Other mods work just fine. Any advice? Here's some basic specs in case it helps.

Resolution: 1920 x 1080
Refresh rate: 59hz
Graphics setting: Ultra
HD Texture
HD Antialiasing
HD Shadow
Antialiasing *off* (Tried with on, no difference)

Any advice would be appreciated. Regardless, good job on the mod, it looks great!

^It's probably because your gpu is too weak. You need enough RAM and GPU memory to use Texmod since the textures are loaded into your memory. I'll upload an updated version of the mod soon with the clothing removed since I didn't do a good enough job on making those higher res. That should make the file smaller and run better for most people.

You did a really good job with your mod, and you should know there's a lot of people who use and enjoy it even though they may not comment on it. If you make your mod unavailable for download though, it only means less people are going to be able to try it out and it won't get the recognition it deserves.

You're going to get all kinds of feedback regardless of what you put out, but the work you've done is certainly something you should be proud of. Personally, I'm grateful you've taken the time to update the mod and make it more accessible, but it's a shame people (myself included) don't have the ability to see what it's like.
Hopefully you can decide to share your great work with us, as I'm sure many people will be genuinely grateful!

Shame you decided to take it down, SG. I think 'Handsome Dante' looks great. Feedback seems largely positive to my understanding, so I'm a little confused as to where all this supposed negative feedback is coming from. Hope you decide to re-upload your work, matey.

Unless you were hosting the file on your own website, why bother removing it? Seems kind of passive-aggressive.
