It is my great pleasure to welcome you to Discovery Bay International School (DBIS).
Located in the tranquil yet vibrant suburb of Discovery Bay, Lantau Island, DBIS is a unique school, combining an established culture of excellence in teaching and learning with genuine inclusivity. From the Early Years Foundation Stage to Primary and into Secondary, we focus on developing independent learners who are curious about the world around them and have a desire to explore and inquire. We passionately believe that learning does not just happen in the classroom, and we actively encourage our teachers to explore innovative methods of utilising the incredible natural setting on our doorstep.
The curriculum at DBIS is based on the English National Curriculum and is adapted to reflect the school’s international setting. We believe that given the right support there is no limit to what children can achieve, and our holistic, inquiry-based approach to education is designed to ensure our children reach their full potential in all areas of learning.
DBIS is more than just a place of education – it’s a community where we embrace diversity and celebrate individuality. Everyone is known at DBIS, and our students benefit immensely from small class sizes and outstanding relationships with staff they know and trust and who go the extra mile to put their students first.
