Our Stories

A 36-year partnership: Baronio family and Woolworths

A 36-year partnership

Meet the Baronio family of Queensland’s Eastern Colour farm, one of Woolworths Group’s earliest direct suppliers. Antonio ‘Giovanni’, best known as John, and wife Louisa Baronio first partnered with Woolworths back in 1988.

“We wouldn't be in farming today if Dad hadn't started his relationship with Woolworths back in the ’80s,” says son Nathan Baronio, who now runs the family farm with brother Stephen.

The partnership has enabled the Baronio family to increase yield, reduce waste and expand operations to become one of the largest summer producers in the country.
