Christy Turlington Burns is a big Beck fan. She has solicited him to record a new track for a compilation, Every Mother Counts 2012, that she organized in partnership with Starbucks for her maternal-health advocacy organization Every Mother Counts. The comp also features tracks, many new or previously unreleased, from David Bowie, Lauryn Hill, Patti Smith, Sade, Coldplay, Bono and the Edge, Rufus Wainwright, Eddie Vedder, and more.

The album was created to raise funds for efforts to reduce maternal mortality around the world, and will be available on May 1. Listen to Beck's contribution, a cover of the 1928 song "Corrina, Corrina" above. "Corrina, Corrina" has a long and storied history, having been recorded by everyone from old blues and folk artists to Bob Dylan and Conor Oberst.

Here's what Turlington had to say about the track:

Beck is one of my favorite artists and I was really moved by his choice in song, 'Corrina, Corrina" which is a cover of a 1928 tune written by B. Chatman, M. Parish, and J. Mayo Williams. I don't know the inspiration for the original song but I am so moved by Beck's version as he chose it with Every Mother Counts' mission to reduce maternal mortality in mind.
