“Carrying out a passion for service can only be accomplished with institutional commitment and within an institutional culture,” SLS's interim Dean Paul Brest said during the Spring Community Leadership and Public Interest Awards Reception on May 20. At the reception, eight students were ...recognized with awards for their public interest and pro bono work, along with their school leadership.

115 members of SLS's class of 2024 will graduate with pro bono distinction, which means they completed 50 hours or more of pro bono work during their time at Stanford Law School. The class of 2024 completed over 16,000 hours of pro bono work in all. Congratulations to the soon to be graduates!

Lawsuits challenging public health measures can significantly impact officials’ ability to respond to emergencies, according to a new study, "Judicial Decisions Constraining Public Health Powers During COVID-19: Implications For Public Health Policy Making," from SLS Professor Michelle ...Mello and J.D. student David Jiang.
