This is a major rack upgrade for my commuting experience. I just built up a New Albion privateer in gloss black with silver parts and this rack was the perfect finisher. It came with tons of hardware to get the mounting dialed in perfectly, and it looks so damn good! It’s pricey, but I feel it will last years and years being made out of stainless steel.
NICE!!!
Short extension to brakes and a shallow drop.
What more could I ask for?
Just what I wanted! I thought when I saw the picture and when it arrived. I should have enquirer further; I want this for my KHS Gravel Racer which has discs, making the forks wider than the rack. How can i conform it to fit? I don’t suppose one is made to fit; I have to stretch it more or less a half inch. Any suggestions?
the moment i installed the handlebars i had flocks of people coming over admiring them. with expressions like, " who makes those, zeus himself?" , " wow nice fit" " can i ride on your handlebars?", " only a god amongst men would have handlebars like that."
My bike even winked as me, when the last piece of bar tape was applied.
5 stars
The Velo Orange stem extender and threadless stem were installed on a Jack Taylor (along with short reach/shallow drop bar) that I have owned for 45 years. Now, I am more comfortable riding in the drops and in a more relaxed position on long descents.
The modification has a "classic " look and functions beautifully.
Had a dodgy rear wheel from a wreck. Decided it wasn't up for the 326 miles of the Ohio to Erie Trail ride, so got a new VO replacement. It is perfect- I have complete confidence for the OTET and years beyond.
Quality parts the complimented my bike build.
If you have an older bike with non- grooved bars this is the tape to use. Keep tension as you pull around the bars and it works great. Stretches around brake lever with a little twisting and patience. Wears very well and fades gradually to give your bike an appreciated appearance. If you are looking for a shiny tape that always looks new, this is not that tape. Good product at a reasonable price.
Could not be happier with this bike. The small wheel/frame combo is unbeatable in urban settings, lower top speed but zippy acceleration. Handles like nothing else out there, and the utility of this bike is impressive making it very easy to live with.
The small size coupled with a dropper make this an easy bike to maneuver in elevators and tight quarters- if you're an apt dweller the form factor will delight you.
Some may label this as a frivolous N+1 bike, but I see a solid option for those looking for something more solid than a folder, but more diminutive than a 26in or 700c city bike.
Only thing aside from top speed that this bike can't do is bomb hills. anything over ~20 mph feels like you're going to shake hands with the grim reaper. But why would you want to go fast on this anyway? This bike invites you to cruise down the street and just enjoy the two wheel feels
These button headed cage mounting screws are the perfect, low profile attachment hardware for my steel TA bottle cage. They fit between the cage rails and do not interfere with the movement of the bottle itself. Very nice finish and rust proof as well, of course.
This seatpost is almost indistinguishable from a Nitto Crystal just is not milled and polished as intensely. It also bears no logos which I like and is about 1/2 as expensive. Really pleased with it so far. I have never been let down by a Velo Orange product yet.
Rock solid construction. Look absolutely beautiful on the bike.
I just redesigned my mixed-terrain/light touring bike, based on a Salsa Warroad frame, so it has a front rack that supports both a boxy bag AND the dry-bag mounts that are on the Warroad fork. The Velo Orange/Roadrunner bag was a perfect fit and the decaleur is light, unobtrusive and secure. Excellent!
After an initial issue with the setting bolts loosening up on a long gravel ride, the ease of maintenance beats the Hayes and TRP Spyres I've used previously. Currently using them with Tiagra Shimano Road levers and the stopping power is intense.
