A few of our NYC Guides attended the Finish Line Physical Therapy’s AlterG Open House on 1/31 and had a great time taking demo runs on their two in-house AlterG treadmills.

Want to explore Williamsburg (Brooklyn) on a Friday or Saturday, but not sure what you want to do? Look no further!

I went to the Brooklyn Night Bazaar last Friday with a group of friends. It’s a fun place to hang out on the weekend when you want to relax and unwind and are feeling indecisive. There is something for everyone.

A lot of people who run with us say, “I was really hoping to sign up for a race while I’m in town, but didn’t know where to look to find one."

We get it. The only thing runners love more than running for fun is pushing ourselves in a race. The good news is that New York City has hundreds of races every year that allow you to be part of the action. With multiple races each weekend, there is sure to be something that fits your running style and goal. From the New York City Marathon to the NYRR 5-Borough Half Marathon Series to races in Central Park to donut/color/midnight runs, NYC has it all.

Here are a few places to start looking:

What better way to celebrate Philadelphia’s Rocky history than running like Rocky would?

A few months ago, Philly guide Rebecca read an article where the author traced Rocky’s training route in “Rocky II,” which clocked in at 30.5 miles. She’s an ultrarunner so she decided to put on an informal run where we’d run the route, but turn it into a full 50k run (31 miles).

She was “excited to put on this run because it allows a group of dedicated runners to run through some amazing sections of Philadelphia. 150+ people ran all over the city and it was so great to get a large group together to show the city what we runners are capable of!”

Rich, a local South Philly sprinter/mid-distance runner, who never ran longer than a half marathon, took the ‎"fat-ass" nature of the Rocky Run to heart by running with a box of munchkins for 10 miles as his primary source of carbs! ‎

Annie, Philly’s manager, even took advantage of running with some out of towners and took a side trip through some of the historic sites to show them what running in Philadelphia is all about.  Who knows, we might even add a Rocky themed route to our regular tour rotation!
