Bhutan sees marked drop in unemployment rates, particularly among youth and TVET graduate

The overall unemployment rate in the country dropped by about 2.4 percent in 2023, according to a report released by the Department of Workforce Planning and Skills Development (DoWPSD), Ministry of Education and Skills Development (MoESD).

Druk Lhayul FC is no more

With the exclusion of Lhayul, BFF Academy FC, who didn’t qualify for the top six position last year, has been given a chance to compete in the upcoming Bhutan Premier League (BPL).

Lhayul’s general secretary, Sonam Tenzin, said the club was dissolved because of financial constraints. “There is not a single sponsor for the club this time.”

The management has left it to the players to decide which club they want to join.
