The NYC Rent Guidelines Board is pleased to offer the newest edition of our annual publication, Housing NYC: Rents, Markets and Trends 2017. With the most recent statistics on economic trends; changes in the housing supply; owner revenues and costs; multifamily mortgages; and tenant income and affordability, Housing NYC is a extensive collection of research on the state of New York City's rental housing market. Housing NYC: Rents, Markets and Trends 2017 includes all six NYC Rent Guidelines Board studies produced this year: Income and Expense Study; Housing Supply Report; Price Index of Operating Costs; Income and Affordability Study; Mortgage Survey Report; and Changes to the Rent Stabilized Housing Stock in NYC in 2016. In addition, the book contains 2017-2018 apartment, loft and hotel guidelines adopted by the Board; data from the most recent NYC Housing and Vacancy Survey; and a glossary of rent regulation terms.

On June 27, 2017, the NYC Rent Guidelines Board adopted renewal lease guidelines for rent stabilized apartments, lofts and hotels effective October 1, 2017.

You may view and download the Orders and Explanatory Statements detailing the recently enacted, current and previously issued guidelines for apartments, lofts and hotels in the Rent Guidelines section of our website.

Videos of all 2017 (and earlier) RGB public meetings, including the preliminary vote; final vote; and public hearings, are available from links on our Meetings page.

  • Changes to the Rent Stabilized Housing Stock in NYC
  • Mortgage Survey Report
  • Housing Supply Report

All six reports for 2017 have been released, and may be read and downloaded in the Housing Research section of our website.
