Upplägg: Tanken är att lägga upp dagen som ett Mocktrial med chans att träna vidare även om man ”åker ut”. Åker man ut får man en bindel på armen men har fortfarande möjlighet att fortsätta och få sina apporter bedömda. Du kan dock då inte vinna denna ”tävling”. Det kommer också finnas utrymme för att höra domarnas diskussioner och varför de bedömt apporterna som de gjort. Det blir alltså inte så många apporter var, men chans att lära sig av andra och en möjlighet att testa om din hund (och du själv) håller ihop för en hel dags prövningar. Vi tror på en hel del givande diskussioner samt enskilda tips och råd till varje ekipage.

About Keith
Keith Mathews ‘The Dog Guru’ is Ireland’s most famous Professional Dog Trainer, Canine Behaviourist & Gundog Handler. Having started training dogs at the age of 11 he has a professional career which spans over 20 years. In that time he has helped over 15,000 dog owners overcome behavioural problems with their wayward pooches.
Keith has had his own hit dog training television series “Good Dog Bad Dog” which specialised in dealing with domestic dogs and their behavioural problems. He has also appeared as the canine expert on the BBC’s The One Show which reaches audiences in excess of 8 million people.
It was Keith’s lifelong love and passion for training his own gundogs and his love for field sports that prompted him to get into the more competitive side of gundog handling. He is now one of the most successful field trailers in Ireland.
In 2008 Keith won the most prestigious title on the Irish Field Trial calendar the “Irish Kennel Clubs Retriever of the Year title” and his FTCH bitch was declared “National Supreme Champion”.
Keith attributes his success to his ability to use his dog behavioural background and understanding of the canine mind to train his Labradors to Field Champion standard.
He is totally opposed to the traditional methods of gundog breaking and uses only positive training methods and his unique “Calmness Leads to Reward” dog training and behaviour method which he applies to his gundog training.
Keith is an ‘A ‘ Panel Judge with the Irish Kennel Club he has judged, competed and lectured on gundog training and pet dog behaviour all over the world. He works his gundog’s fulltime on a variety of different terrains throughout the shooting season.
Breeder of Champions
As a breeder, Keith’s Copperbirch Labrador line is one of the most sought after Irish working lines in the world.
Keith has bred The Irish Retriever of the Year. The three times winner of the Icelandic Championship. The Australian Retriever of the Year, FTCH’s who have been placed in the Irish Championship as well as FTCH’s who have qualified for the IGL British Retriever Championship. He has bred numerous FTCH’s as well as a further 22 dogs who have gained Field Trial awards in several different countries such as South Africa, Australia, Norway, Iceland, Sweden, UK, USA and Finland.

Having been a professional dog trainer, behaviourist and instructor for 20 years, Keith has a wealth of knowledge which he has acquired from working with all breeds of dogs in different situations and he prides himself in being able to assist gundog owners and handlers in overcoming their gundog’s problems, when all other trainers have failed.
With a life time experience of developing training methods and techniques. Keith is always creating ways for handlers to get the best from their gundogs.
Keith is highly observant of dogs and their handler’s behaviours, he has the eye of a top coach in that he can identify where problems are occurring and why, and from this develop strategies and techniques to overcome them.
