Babel Technologies contributes to the extension of the ESPRIT project RESPITE
The RESPITE project
(REcognition of Speech by Partial Information TEchniques) is funded by the EC ESPRIT Long Term Research programme from January 1999 for up to 3 years. RESPITE target in-car applications and cellular telephone recognition. RESPITE focuses on new methodologies for robust Automatic Speech Recognition based on missing-data theory and multiple classification streams. RESPITE has provided a link between ASR and
models of hearing, work in Computational Auditory Scene Analysis.

(CH), and ICSI (USA, subcontractor)) will participate to the second amendment of the RESPITE contract - a 6 month extension, in order to develop a demonstrator that will include all the different research from all the partners.
