Babel Technologies completed a 5 million EUR fund raising with major investors active in the IT sector

Babel Technologies announced on February 22 2002, that it has completed a 5 million EUR fund raising with major investors active in the IT sector, Part’Com, SRIW and IMBC.

The success of the private placing, the acquisition of Infovox in September 2001 and partnerships with major players in telecommunications, mobile and multimedia applications confirm the leading position of Babel Technologies on the European market.

"The confidence of the investors in Babel Technologies gives us the opportunity to accelerate the development of the new generation of speech technologies, to reinforce our strategy in sales and marketing in order to continue to provide reliable and user-friendly speech interfaces.", said Vincent Fontaine, CEO and co-founder of Babel Technologies.

Babel released a new Speaker Verification system

Babel released the new Babel-id SDK, a full-featured Speaker Verification system able to verify any speaker identity based on its voice print. A fast training phase of less than 1 minute is required and few seconds are needed to accept or reject the speaker. A Speech Recognition system is also included in order to verify the prompted passwords and to manage the dialog with the user.

Babel-Infovox TTS system is giving the results at Salt Lake 2002 ParaLympics Winter games

Babel-Infovox Norwegian distributor's TAGARNO NORGE AS is providing all the participants and the visitors the results from the 2002 Paralympics Winter games in Salt Lake City . They use Infovox 330 TTS diphone system to read out the results and any usefull information from the computer at the information center.

TAGARNO NORGE AS is mainly providing to blind and visually handicapped people some equipment that help them to live a normal life at work and at home.

VRTVStudios is using Babel2lips for lips synchronisation of virtual characters with speech

VRTVStudios (France) is both a software company and a service provider. Their key product is a proprietary Voice-to-Broadcast software called VRTVMAX, which enables you to transform simple text into 3D content using Active Server Pages. VRTVStudios uses Babel2Lips to provide the best movement of lips when the virtual characters speak.
