This minimalist folding chair is to be hanged on the wall when not in use (on the enclosed mounting). Frame is a perfect extra seating for the unexpected guest and ads an extra graphic element to a space when hanged on the wall. Living or working in compact spaces demands flexible solutions that can interact with the space.
The folding chair consists of two elements; the frame and the filling. When the chair is standing on the floor a dynamic tension occurs between the two elements, as the chair is folded the tension transforms in to harmony.
The main focus in the design process has been to achieve a refined simplicity in every detail. This resulted e.g. in a textile hinge made of technical webbing, to achieve a smooth monolith look of the seat/leg part.
