Why do Cherokee Indians look like the white man?

I’m proud to be part Cherokee Indian, and after centuries of abuse, I’m happy to report that my Indian cousins have retained a great sense of humor!

On one reservation they have a plastic cut-out of a white man that you can have your picture taken with!

But racism lingers on, and even in the 21st century there are a lot of racists (especially foreigners), and they like to poke fun at my Indian features.

I even had an asshat who worked for one of the world’s largest software companies publish that I look like an “Oompah Loompah”.

It was pure racism, but he had a point, Cherokees do kind of have some Oompah Loompah features:

Back in the 1700’s and 1800’s, some Cherokee were able to “pass” and pose as white settlers, and it was not always easy to tell a Cherokee from an Italian or “swarthy” southern European immigrant.

Most folks don’t know that many Cherokee Indians descendents have blue eyes! Some experts say that this is because the Cherokee are actually early European settlers, coming to America, even before the Vikings.

There were verified reports from the 1600's by early Americabn settlers who reported American Indians with blue eyes and brown hair!

Judge for yourself, here are some famous Cherokee chiefs:
