Copper Bullion Melt Value Calculator

How Much is Your Copper Bullion Worth?

Copper Bullion Value Based on Current Copper Price

The Copper Bullion Melt Value Calculator, located below, will help you find the total copper value of an individual copper round, bar, or ingot; or of several different types and quantities of copper items. The copper value is based on the total weight of copper content. The copper calculator will only calculate what the copper metal is worth (intrinsic value), and will not determine any collectible value of your bullion.

Use the copper calculator to determine how much your copper bullion is worth, or to decide what you are willing to pay based on the spot price for a pound of copper. (Instructions Below)

You could also try out other calculators from the drop-down menu above. If your copper is in the form of U.S. pennies, then use the U.S. Copper Penny Melt Value Calculator. There is also a Canadian Copper Penny Melt Value Calculator, and for copper scrap, the Scrap Copper Melt Value Calculator.

Calculator only figures the total value and weight of the copper portion of your bullion. Does not include any other metals that may have been used to alloy.

How to use the Copper Melt Value Calculator.

Enter the total amount of rounds, bars or ingots for each copper item, based on its actual copper weight. Enter your numbers in the text boxes located directly to the right of that item's corresponding unit of weight. As an alternative, you can simply click on that row's copper weight image, or its link, to increment the value of its text box by 1. The calculator will automatically update the Total Copper Value (in red), whenever a change is made to the number of copper items.

The Total Copper Value is computed based on the U.S. Dollar amount shown in the Copper Price text box. You could also use one of the other currencies available in the drop-down menu located underneath the prices. The default price is updated frequently during normal trading hours. The Copper Price can be changed to reflect the price you're wanting to pay per pound for the copper contained in any combination of copper items. This will help you to determine the maximum bid you could submit for an online copper bullion auction.

In addition to the Total Copper Value (in red), the copper calculator will also figure a Bid and Ask price based on the amount displayed in the Price Spread text box. This amount defaults to 5%, but can be changed if you like. The copper Bid and Ask prices are shown in the lower section of the copper results box, for those who would like to use them.

If your copper item is alloyed with another metal, you can use the Bullion Purity text box to adjust accordingly. Simply enter the item's percentage of pure copper by weight, and all resultant values will be multiplied by that percentage value.

The copper calculator figures total copper value and total copper weight related to the amount of copper content in items that have no wear from handling. A copper round or bar that does indicate some wear will not have as much copper. You may want to enter a percentage of that wear in the "Amount of Wear" text box. A value larger than the default of 0 (zero), will adjust the total copper value and total copper weight results accordingly.
