We evaluate casinos every day and we come across many great ones and not so great ones. This list of three achieves a balance between the value of the bonus itself and the fairness of the rules, and ensures a good variety of bonus types. We personally vouch for these casinos.

Every online casino worth its salt offers bonuses and promotions to players as incentive to join and then continue playing. That is the reason you find the online casino universe overflowing with all kinds of bonuses. The bonuses are usually positioned as freebies that players get when they sign up with the casino and also when they continue playing there.

New players may get a singular welcome bonus or a range of bonuses to choose from contingent on the game they are playing. Some casinos offer a simple welcome bonus to a new player and follow it up with some exciting bonuses to ensure they stay with the casino. Existing players get juicy bonuses too.

There are always conditions attached to each bonus that a casino offers. Reading the entire list of terms and conditions is necessary for a good gaming experience, but it can be stressful. We have tried to make this process shorter and hassle free by going through all the terms and conditions minutely and listing out the important ones along with explanations. This way, you save time without losing out on a bonus because you didn't know its terms.

The Top UK Casino Bonuses List

We have compiled for you here a list of the top bonuses at the best UK casinos. Choose one of the tabs to choose your preferred bonus type.

Different Types of Bonuses at UK Casinos

There are different kinds of bonuses available at the top UK casinos. We describe briefly each of these bonuses in this section.

No Deposit Bonus

The no deposit bonus is available to new players once they register with the casino, even before they deposit funds into their casino accounts. It could be a small amount of free money, free spins, or free money that you have to use up in a given time period. This is how it works: you register with the casino and the bonus is immediately made available to you. Some casinos make it available as soon as you sign up while some others require you to contact the support team.

Free Spins Bonuses

Free spins bonuses are a set of spins that the casino gives for free to new players. They are offered as a no deposit bonus and also as a part of a match welcome bonus. They are available usually on a specific game or set of games. As a no deposit bonus you get this bonus as soon as you register with the casino. As a part of a match welcome bonus you get this bonus once you register with the casino and deposit funds into your account.

Match Bonus

The bonus is offered by online casinos to new players. You get this bonus when you open an account with the casino and deposit funds into it. The casino then matches your deposit with a bonus amount of its own. This bonus amount is a percentage of the amount you deposit. Most casinos have an upper limit on the amount they offer as a match deposit bonus though there are a few casinos now that do not have an upper limit on the bonus amount offered.

High Roller Bonus

The high roller bonus is a new player bonus that is available to high-spending players. Once you register with an online casino account and deposit a big amount into your casino account - it has to be at least the minimum amount that the casino specifies for the high roller bonus - the casino matches it with a big deposit of its own. Usually casinos offer a specific amount that is a percentage of your deposit.

Reload Bonus

The reload bonus is offered by online casinos in appreciation of your loyalty to the casino. These are generally smaller than sing up bonuses. To get this bonus you have to continue playing at the casino after you have run through your welcome bonus and deposit funds into your account. You will be notified by the casino about this bonus through mail or chat with customer support.

Cash Back Bonus

The cash back bonus is offered by online casinos to existing players as a means of recovering some of the losses incurred. It is offered at fixed intervals by casinos; for instance at the end of every week or every month. This bonus is usually a percentage of the amount that you have lost while playing at the casino for real money. To avail this bonus you have to be a regular real money player at the casino. You receive notification about the availability of this bonus from the casino through mail or through their customer support team.

The Importance of the Fine Print and the Bonus Rules

An online casino has to be able to offer bonuses in such a way that it does not incur losses while doing so. That is where the terms and conditions come in. Each bonus offered by a casino has a set of terms and conditions attached to it to ensure:

  • Fair usage
  • Zero bonus abuse or fraud
  • 100% player satisfaction
  • Minimal or no loss for the casino

As a player, it is important to understand the terms and conditions associated with the different bonuses; only then will you be able to use the bonus effectively. Failure to understand the terms and conditions and fulfill them may result in:

  • Forfeiture of the bonus itself
  • Loss or forfeiture of any winnings earned from it
  • Being labeled a bonus abuser
  • Suspension or even termination of your casino account

There are different terms and conditions associated with each bonus. The ones found most commonly at online casinos include:

Wagering Requirements

Wagering requirements are one of the most critical terms and conditions governing the use of a bonus. You are required to wager the bonus amount a certain pre-specified number of times to be able to withdraw or redeem your winnings. Some casinos require you to wager the deposit as well as the bonus amount a specific number of times. For instance a casino may have a 35x wagering requirement on the welcome bonus, which means you have to wager an amount equal to 35 times the bonus amount before you can withdraw your winnings from this bonus.

Game Eligibility

Certain bonuses apply to only specific games. This is especially true in the case of bonuses like the free spins bonus; some casinos also offer different welcome bonuses for different games, e.g. a 100% bonus for table games like blackjack and a 200% bonus for slots. You cannot use this bonus to play games that are not covered by it. If you do so, you could forfeit the bonus at the very least; you could also end up being suspended.

Bonus Validity

You have to ensure the bonus you are about to use is still valid. Casinos usually have a validity period for their bonuses. Using a bonus that has crossed its validity period may result in you losing out on any winnings from the bonus. That is not all; repeated behavior of this nature may result in you being barred from playing at the casino.

Withdrawal Rules

Every casino has strict rules when it comes to withdrawal of winnings earned from a bonus. For instance, you have to fulfill the wagering requirements associated with a bonus to be able to withdraw the winnings from it. You cannot withdraw bonus money until you have fulfilled the wagering requirements.

Trying to withdraw the bonus early without fulfilling the wagering requirements will almost always be considered bonus abuse. Penalties for bonus abuse include forfeiture of the bonus, loss of winnings earned from it, and even suspension or termination of your account.

Game Contributions

Different games available at online casinos contribute differently towards fulfillment of wagering requirements. The following table lists out the contributions of different games towards wagering requirements as well as the wagering multiple for each game type at a number of example casinos.

This table will illustrate how important it is for you to study the wagering requirements for any bonus you claim.

Maximum Capped Amount

This condition applies to no deposit bonuses as well as match bonuses. Some casinos cap the maximum amount you can redeem or withdraw from the winnings earned using a bonus. For instance, if you won £100 using a £10 no deposit bonus, the casino would not allow you to redeem the entire amount; it could cap it at £50.

Bet Type and Size Limitations

Casinos usually place limitations with regard to the type and size of a bet. Certain casinos do not allow you to double up when you are playing games like slots or video poker. Some online casinos do not allow you to bet more than say 10% of the bonus amount remaining as you go forward. Something like this can be seen in online poker games, where there is a restriction on the follow-up bet after the ante.

UK Casino Bonus FAQs

How does an online casino bonus work?

There's a ton of information on this page, but here is the five-point version:

  • The casino will match your deposit with a capped amount, or up to a specified limit.
  • Your cash balance and bonus balance are "locked up" until you have wagered a certain amount, determined by the "multiple", e.g. 35 times the bonus amount.
  • You must only play games explicitly allowed with the bonus. Not all games contribute 100% towards the total you need to wager.
  • Do not try to withdraw until you are 100% sure that you have met the wagering total or you may risk losing your bonus and any winnings you achieved.
  • Don't try to claim the same bonus more than once and make sure you use the bonus soon after received as they ten to expire.
How do I withdraw a casino bonus?

You can't until you have met the wagering requirements. Never try to withdraw early. Ever.

Why is can a casino bonus not be withdrawn from the outset?

The playthrough requirement and the other terms and conditions attached to the bonus are there to ensure no player is able to defraud the casino and to ensure that the casino does not bleed. Failure to fulfill these terms and conditions can have serious repercussions, from forfeiting the bonus and winnings earned through it to having your account terminated.

What is my casino bonus balance?

Most casinos will clearly show your bonus balance separately from the cash balance. Look in the cashier if you are not sure. If unsure ask for an explanation.

How do I wager or "clear" a casino bonus?

Play the games specific in the bonus terms and conditions. Keep tabs on more or less how much you have wagered, and check the cashier every now and then.

Is there any special trick I can use to circumvent the wagering requirement hurdler?

Unfortunately there are no tricks that you can use to get the wagering requirement out of the way. It is a mechanism the casinos have in place to protect their money and also ensure fair play. You will have to wager the amount the required number of times to use the bonus as failure to do so will invite strict penalties.

What are the consequences of playing a game that is not on the 'eligible games' list for a particular bonus?

Doing so would be an offence, especially since it has been clearly stated in the terms and conditions that the game you played is not eligible for bonus cover. Any of the following could happen:

  • You would not be able to use the bonus.
  • In the event you are using the bonus, you would forfeit the bonus and all winnings from it.
  • You would be labeled a bonus abuser and could have your account suspended or terminated.
I have come across a number of sites saying they have the best bonuses in the UK. What does that exactly mean?

That is often a very misleading claim. Simply put - there is no such thing as the 'best bonus', there are good bonuses. We do things differently here by providing an honest and balanced viewpoint. We take a number of things into account, like wagering requirements, rules, policies related to withdrawal, and more. The list you find on our site is honest and therefore has the right mix of not just fairness but also value. In the end, that is what a good bonus is finally about.

What is the best way to ensure I get the right bonus?

Zeroing in on the right bonus can be a tricky and challenging task. We make this tricky task easy for you by simply listing the bonuses available at UK casinos. We analyze all bonuses minutely and list out only those that score high on all the parameters we check them for. When you come to us all you have to do is go through our list of bonuses and pick the one that works best for you, because our list is driven by fairness and value and not hype.

Say I have got myself a casino bonus but do not want to use it anymore; what do I do?

You will have to immediately inform the casino. Casinos have a stipulation in their terms and conditions document that requires you to inform them in the event you do not want to avail the bonus. Some casinos can reverse the bonus while in some others this may not be possible.
