CELEBRATING PROGRESS IN FARM ANIMAL WELFARE AND SUSTAINABLE, NATURE-FRIENDLY FOOD
Through our Good Farm Animal Welfare Awards, we recognise market leading food companies for their policies or commitments that benefit farm animals and the environment.
We award companies that are committed to implementing substantial policy changes to improve animal welfare by working collaboratively with us to meet a species-specific set of awards criteria.
We also recognise companies that are taking steps to create more sustainable and nature-friendly food supply chains.
Awards Impact
Almost 883 million animals are set to benefit each year from the policies and commitments of the companies Compassion has awarded since the programme began in 2007.
Species-specific Awards
In 2007, we launched our Good Egg Award which celebrates companies for their cage-free egg commitments.
Since then, we have expanded our awards programme to include the Good Chicken Award, the Good Dairy Award, the Good Pig Award, the Good Rabbit Award and the Good Turkey Award.
Retailer Awards
We hold our Retailer Awards every two years to recognise retailers that are leading the way in performance, innovation and marketing.
These awards are driven by the results of our biennial European Supermarket Survey.
Cage Free Award
Our Cage-Free Award celebrates leading food companies that are taking the momentous step of ending the use of ALL cages across their supply chain.
Planet Friendly Award
Our Planet Friendly Award celebrates companies that make commitments to meaningful meat (dairy, fish eggs) reduction targets in their supply, within five years.
Sustainable Food & Farming Awards
Our Sustainable Food and Farming Awards recognise producers and businesses that are taking steps to produce higher welfare meat, dairy and eggs in ways that protect, improve and restore wildlife and the environment.
Celebrating success
Consumers are increasingly interested in the provenance of their food, due to rising concerns about animal welfare and the environmental impact of food production.
