Swedish Mobile Command: 1957 Volvo Sugga
This 1957 Volvo Sugga Command Car is very original and is offered by the second owner since it was decommissioned from the Swedish Army. It includes some amazing period accessories and a matching 1/4-Ton military trailer. Find it here on Kijiji in Vancouver, Canada for $65k CDN.
The roofline gives this rig a vague similarity to a 444 of the same era, but the four doors and wide flat fenders make it more of a beast. The tubular rear bumper and integrated spare tire compartment makes for good departure angles.
Inside the drab green paint is too nice to have never been restored. The listing states that it is original but this area might have been restored to original. The simple dash and multiple shifters remind us of Power Wagons and Unimogs, or maybe the Volvo C303.
The engine compartment looks the most used of any area on the vehicle. The Weber carb was recently replaced and the engine operates as it should.
We like this Volvo for its road presence and ability to combine a passenger car shape with 4×4 capability. We have never seen one of these in the USA and if the seller is right, there are likely only a handful in all of North America. We dig it.
