Best Betting Offers From UK Betting Sites For 2018

Online Betting Offers UK – What To Know in 2022?

Welcome to JBO – your Nº1 guide to the best betting offers and online bookie bonuses in the UK. Starting or re-starting your betting career on the right foot requires lots of good decisions, but arguably the most important one is picking the right partner – kind of like in life. The betting site online you chose to run your adventure with is of capital importance since it will provide you with all your betting options for the foreseeable future.

Of course, this decision can be changed in the future, and we even recommend holding multiple betting accounts with new bookmakers, to compare odds, win bonuses and maybe even get some arbitrage opportunities. But in a world where bookmaker odds are so similar, what can we look into to differentiate one from the other?

Every bookmaker tries its best to attract new customers, and the easiest way to do so is using special betting offers and welcome bonuses which can determine people to open an account, place some money in it and start playing. Of course, not all bookies offers and sign up bonuses are the same – some are easy to access and win, others are very complicated and usually not worthwhile following.

Our purpose is to get you to understand the main categories of free bet offers and welcome bonuses given by best betting sites, how you can take advantage of them, and how to dodge very complex requirements which are usually not worth your time. That being said, let’s get into answering the first big question: what are bookmaker special offers?

Recommended UK Online Bookmakers

Mr.Play Sport Welcome Bonus

£10 Free Bet*

If previously we’ve looked into bookmakers who have some experience in the UK betting scene (6-8 years), today we want to analyze Mr.Play Sport – one of the latest additions to an already rich scenery. They have only been around since 2017, but have steadily managed to grow their client base and appear in more and more professional articles. But how do they attract new customers?

The sportsbook welcome bonus is a standard one for the UK betting market: 10 Free Bet* for new customers. The conditions for the free bet are the following: max 10 pounds, valid for 14 days and must be placed at odds of 1/1.

Their casino business is a bit different. Not only do they offer a classic first deposit matched bonus of 100% (up to £200), but also 100 Free Spins. Not just as large, but receiving free money on your 1st deposit is certainly a very nice feat. The playthrough conditions are also very good: 25 times the bonus amount.

All in all, we’re big fans of the way Mr.Play Sport and Casino has set up their bonus schemes. They have everything you would expect from a new bookmaker: a great website, good live betting, a fabulous mobile app and lots of ways to interact with their customers. Top this with some nice bonuses, and we’ve got a bookmaker on our hands.

Mr Green Free Bet Offer

£10 ACCA free bet*

Mr. Green is easily one of the more recognizable bookmakers on the scene right now – not only due to their popularity and increase in customer numbers, but especially because of their recognizable green colour across their app and website, as well as their well-known mascot.

Those things might bring people to their website, but here, they quickly find two extremely good offers if they open a new account. The welcome bonus for new sportsbook customers is an English standard: a £10 free bet, eligible to be collected by each new account who makes a deposit of at least £10. This free bet has to be used on minimum odds of at least 3/1 or 4.00 – big winnings, but bigger risk as well.

Their casino welcome bonus is also quite classic: a first deposit match bonus, up to £100. We’ve seen this bonus time and time again across the market, and it’s only as good as you make it. Be sure to check out the play-through requirements on the Mr. Green website before opening an account, and choose casino games where you have good odds of winning.

Apart from these two bonuses, Mr. Green also impresses with a number of other things. For example, if you want to use their live casino, you’ll get 50% of your losses back as bonus money, as long as you’re playing through your initial deposit. This kind of offer is ideal for new players without lots of gambling experience, and will surely make a lot of bettors very happy.

New players only. Min odds for qualifying bet 3/1. Free bet must have 3+ selections. Expires after 7 days.18+, T&Cs apply. BeGambleAware.org

Netbet Free Bet

£25 matched free bet*

When we first started writing bookmaker reviews, we’ve placed NetBet in the “up and coming” category, and predicted they’ll do better and better over the coming years. Not a lot of time has passed, and they’re become a crowd favourite, both in the UK and abroad as well. There are a couple of things we can owe this ascension to, and one of them is their welcome bonuses.

For their sportsbook, NetBet currently offer a twist to the traditional UK free bet. It essentially gives their new players a free bet equal to the first bet they place on their NetBet account on odds of at least 1,50, with an upper limit of £25. In terms of value, this is one of the better ones on the market so far, because you can end up with more than £50 in winnings – because your “qualifying bet” can also turn out to be a winner. The conditions of the bonus are also quite easy to fulfill, and can easily be researched on the NetBet website.

Their casino welcome bonus is quite nice as well. They offer a 100% first deposit bonus up to £50. Along this bonus, they also offer 10 free spins in some of their casino games, which can be a nice way to get introduced to NetBet’s gaming world. All in all, a great bonus scheme with lots of flexibility and options.

In recent years, NetBet has grown from a fringe player in the betting scene to a name which can’t really be ignored anymore, especially since they’re tying their brand to more and more clubs around the continent. In remains to see how they will develop over the next couple of seasons, but something tells us they will grow stronger.

*New customers will be awarded a 100% matched Free Bet up to £25 on their first settled Sports bet. Min odds for bonus is 1/2. The Free Bet token is valid for 7 days and can be used on any sport of your choice at minimum odds 1/5 or above.  18+, begambleaware.org  Full terms apply.

Online Betting Offer Types

Special offers from bookmakers come in all shapes and sizes. To put it simply, a special offer is a bonus or a feature given by a bookmaker to a player in order to reward that player for either placing a bet on a sporting event, opening and account or depositing a sum of money.

These rewards come in various forms: money, enhanced odds, play credit, free casino spins, etc. Of course, some of these bonuses (like cold cash) are preferred to other, more niche ones, like enhanced odds, and that is usually the thing that makes a client chose one bookmaker over the other. All these special offers can be further divided into categories, which we will explain below:

Welcome Bonuses – The simplest reward out there. Nearly all betting sites worldwide have this offer for setting up an online account. Just open an account, deposit some money in it (amount differs between bookmakers), and you will receive a prize. This is the simplest form of a welcome bonus – it then becomes different between brokers.

For example, Mr.Play Sport gives you a £10 free bet* just for opening an account with them, no deposit required. Other bookmakers double the amount you first deposit, up to a certain sum. Others give you flat amounts of money. Do remember that while this welcome bonus is credited to your account instantly, you do need to fulfill certain conditions to withdraw it. More on that later.

Bonuses For New & Existing Customers – Receiving a bonus only when opening an account would be a pretty terrible marketing idea from bookmakers. Thus, they try to keep their players close to them with periodic bonuses or special ones based on individual sporting events. For example, Unibet once had a Champions League bonus – if you deposited a sum of money and used it to play on CL games, they would credit your account with 100% of the said amount. These bonuses tend to vary quite a lot over time, even with the same bookmaker.

Free Bets – Free bets are very common in the betting world and are a special kind of bonus. Some bookmakers use them as welcome bonuses, while others just give them away to their classic players. A free bet works in the following way: if you lose your bet on any given game, the broker gives you your money back. Of course, these free bets are also subject to terms and conditions.

Enhanced Odds – One very common bonus used by lots of bookmakers have increased odds for an individual game, both for new players and old ones. For example, if there is a very tight derby, like Manchester United vs. Manchester City, a sportsbook, can choose to give its players enhanced odds for the game, like 5,00 for the home side and 5,00 for the away side, in order to encourage them into placing more bets. This kind of bonus usually revolves around close games and derbies, which spark lots of interest.

Other Special Offers –There really is no limit to a bookmaker’s creativity when developing new bonuses. The key to taking advantage of them is carefully reading the terms and conditions associated with the bonus.

Choosing The Best Sign Up Offers

Since the most commonly analyzed bonuses are welcome bonuses, we thought a deeper analysis should be made on then. Welcome bonuses are usually the main tiebreaker between bookmakers, and for a good reason.

Let’s say you have 200 pounds to start your betting career with. Would you prefer a betting site that gives you 100% bonus up to these 200 pounds, one that gives you 50% up to 50 pounds, or one with a 30 pound free bet? In your case, the first one would net you the biggest prize – if the terms and conditions would be the same. How good or bad a welcome bonus actually depends a lot on the sum of money you have to invest in that account.

If you only have a few pounds and want to use them for sports betting, a freebet system would be the best for you. If on the other hand, you have a decent sum of money and want to potentially double it, you should look for bookmakers like Jetbull, Unibet or NetBet, which all offer good welcome bonuses depending on how big your initial deposit is.

Of course, after the initial hype and the first bonus is cashed in, your primary area of interest will be the non-recurrent bonus section of the bookmaker. Sadly for our analysis, this section is almost impossible to look into, since lots of bookmakers have very varied bonuses depending on the period of the year, special sporting events, how they’re doing on the market, and can even vary based on the residence of a player.

Small free bets and a bit more higher enhanced odds are usual promotions in the UK. Of course these offers and bonuses have more strict terms, but without a doubt are quite attractive. To put it simply, if you’re dissatisfied with the bonuses your current bookmaker is offering you, try opening a tiny account with another one, to see how the new betting site acts.

Deposit And Withdrawal Methods

With so many bookmakers and options, it’s only natural to expect their money handling skills to be on par with their customer’s needs. Most UK betting sites process money in a wide array of ways, ranging from credit and debit card transfers, bank transfers and classic cash deposits to e-wallets like PayPal, Skrill or Neteller, prepaid cards and online payment systems. For more information about each e-wallet mantioned above, please visit the following pages:

paypal betting sites
skrill betting sites
neteller betting sites

All these options work just as well for deposits as well as withdraws, and the difference between bookmakers is often made around the time of each transaction. While deposits are usually made free and instantly (of course), withdraws can take any time from a few hours to a few days, depending on the bookmaker. For more information about specific payment method, please visit our Deposit Methods page.

Important: Betting Promotions Terms & Conditions

Now that we’ve covered most of the special offers a bookmaker throws at you, it’s time to look into a key area of these offers: the terms and conditions. Bookmakers rarely give money or enhanced odds away for free –  you will have to fulfill certain requirements in order to play through your bonus.

For example, if you receive a free bet, most bookmakers will oblige you to select odds bigger than an individual number, so they don’t give you a bonus for a safe bet. This figure can vary from 1,30 (fairly easy) to 1,50 (fairly common) and even 2,00. The higher the threshold is, the less likely it is you’ll make it, and the bonus will quickly vanish.

Welcome bonuses also have terms and conditions. The most common condition brokers tie welcome bonuses too is the “play through” condition. Very simply put, if a bookmaker gives you a welcome bonus of 200 pounds and tie is to a condition which says you have to play through it three times, it forces you to bet at least 600 pounds on their website before being able to withdraw the bonus.

Some bookmakers only force you to play through it once, others have much harsher conditions. Sometimes, you’ll even be forced to selects bets with high odds, since low-odd bets will not be considered towards the play-through condition. There are lots of terms a bookmaker might use to condition bonuses – read them very carefully since they can be the difference between a very nice win and throwing money out the window.

Bespoke Offers by JBO

Special Offer SymbolBespoke Offers is a new personalised service from JBO that creates a custom feed of betting offers based on the types of deal that you want to see. We cover both sign up and existing customer offers, and filter them based on the sites you have accounts with and the events, sports and types of promotion that you want to see.

Please note, we’re currently still in beta testing and participation is limited to a selected number of users. If you’d like be to kept up to date of the latest developments and want to know when the full service goes live you can add your details to our mailing list.

Getting Started

Getting started is easy:

  1. Sign up for an account*
  2. Choose the bookmakers that you currently have an account with
  3. Select the type of event that you’re interested in
  4. Sit back and let us do the work for you

* Participation is currently limited to beta testers only. To register you will also need a beta test invitation code.

What Will You See

Every day we scour the bookies sites to find the latest promotions. These are then entered into our system and distributed to each users custom field based on the options that were chosen when the account was set up (these can be changed at any time).

We have two sections, the first are the retention offers that are available to existing customers. We limit these to bookmakers that you currently hold an account with, or those who you have selected as ‘willing to sign up to’. This means that any offer that you see is available at bookies you are already registered with.

Bespoke Offers: How it Works

By default the offers are shown based on popularity, but you can change this it your account settings. You can sort the offers by sport, event, date and bookmaker and we’ll shortly add a filter to allow you to narrow down the selections even further.

The second section is for sign up offers. Here you only see offers from bookmakers that you don’t have an account with.

For both sections you are able to hide offers that you aren’t interested in. For sign up offers if you hide a bookmaker we will no longer show you offers from that bookie. For retention we only hide that specific offer but you may see future similar ones. To remove an offer type completely from your feed, edit your settings.

Common Questions

Here we answer some of the questions we get asked most frequently:

Is It Free?

Yes, our service is totally free. We funded by the bookmakers, but it does not affect the offers or odds available to you.

Can I Claim Any Offer I Can See?

Not necessarily. We do limit our offers to those that are generally available, meaning we don’t include account specific promotions, but most bookmakers will only allow eligible customers to claim their offers. If you are no longer able to claim offers with a certain bookie then you won’t be able to claim the offers shown on this site either.

Do You Show All Offers?

We do exercise a degree of editorial control over the offers and choose to eliminate some low value promotions to save cluttering up our feed. This is something we are constantly monitoring and will revise if necessary but we believe in quality over quantity.

There are also some kinds of general offers that we don’t include in the offer feeds. These include concessions such as Best Odds Guaranteed and Price Promises. Such offers are so common (and often expected) that we don’t like to flood users feeds with them. We do maintain separate pages for these kinds of promotion if you want to see a list of sites that offer them, and what their terms are.

What if There Are No Offers From My Bookies?

If you only hold accounts with a limited number of sites then there is a strong chance that you’ll be limited in the number of offers that you’ll see, meaning that some events or sports may not have anything. To increase the number of options available to you we also highlight which bookmakers do have offers, with the option to show these by clicking the “see offers from other bookies” option.

Which Bookmakers Do You Cover?

We track the majority of major UK licensed bookmakers. For white labels which share offers from a parent brand we only show the offers from the main brand rather than the white labels, otherwise we’d end up with a large amount of duplication.

How Accurate Are Your Offers?

We check the bookmakers sites multiples times a day, and also maintain relationships with many bookies which gives us a direct line to their promotions department. Offers are added as quickly as possible, but there is a slightly delay due to the fact that they are manually checked. Promotions are automatically removed from the site once they have expired or the relevant event has ended.

Do You Only Cover Sports?

Current, yes, we only track sports promotions on the feeds. If enough users request it we may expand to other products. Keep an eye on your news feed for information about new features as they’re launched.

Can I See Offers Without An Account?

No. Only logged in users can see our offers. Without giving us your preferences and telling us who you hold accounts with we have no way of filtering what’s available, meaning you would see a very large list.

Is There An API?

At this time there is no API, but we may create offer widgets in the future which can be added to other sites. This would be either on a click share or as a paid service.
