2014 NFL Free Agency: Buccaneers likely to be interested in Michael Vick

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers may look at Michael Vick to provide competition for Mike Glennon.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and New York Jets are likely to have "some level of interest" in free agent quarterback Michael Vick, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Michael Vick's starting spot with the Philadelphia Eagles was taken by Nick Foles after Vick suffered an injury early this season.

I can't really see this interest, though. Michael Vick's biggest issue through the years has been consistency: he can have some great games and has a lot of talent, but he struggles to consistently execute a game plan -- and that's what Jeff Tedford will be looking for at quarterback. Moreover, Johnny Manziel would be a better option than Vick anyway: he's a younger and more explosive option these days. Unless you expect him not to even be available at the number seven pick.

To make matters worse, Vick has struggled to stay healthy. He's missed at least three games ever year since 2009, and has managed to play 16 games only once in his career -- way back in 2006. The Bucs should want to add some competition for Mike Glennon if they can't find a replacement in the draft, however, and Vick might fit that strategy.
