All Samsung Galaxy S (1) handset models share the following primary specifications:

  • 1 GHz Hummingbird processor
  • 512MB ROM
  • 4” Super AMOLED display (800 X 480 Resolution, 16.7 million colours.)
  • Android 2.1 +
  • 5 Megapixel Rear Camera with HD video recording (720P at 30 frames per sec.)
  • Wi-Fi 802.11 b/b/n
  • Bluetooth version 3.0 with A2DP

However, different variants of the Galaxy S have different hardware features. Some have a front facing camera, some have a flash, and some have a physical keyboard. They also ship in 8GB or 16GB versions with the exception of the Epic 4G which only has 2GB of built-in storage.

Here is a run-down of the different versions of the Samsung Galaxy S smartphone:

Samsung GT-i9000

One of the most popular and widely-sold Galaxy S models.

  • Front Facing Camera
  • No hardware keyboard
  • No flash
  • 3 Buttons below the screen (1 physical and 2 capacitive.)
  • 119 grams

The GT-i9000 comes in 3 variations:
GT-i9000 – International version sold all over Europe and Asia.
GT-i9000M – Sold in Canada by Bell. (Confusingly, this one was sold as the Vibrant.)
GT-i9000T – Sold in Brazil. Comes with a built-in TV tuner and retractable TV antenna.

It is also sold as the M110S in the South Korean home market.

  • No Front Facing Camera
  • No Flash
  • No hardware keyboard
  • Metallic rear cover
  • 4 capacitive buttons below the screen.
