Backplane

Co-planar

Coplanar connectors allow right-angle male to right-angle female interconnect without the need of a backplane. This allows designers to grow systems horizontally or add new cabling solutions. Coplanar connectors may also be used as card extenders in test applications.

Orthogonal midplane connectors are high-speed, high-density interconnects optimized for use in system architectures that utilize a midplane with horizontal card(s) on one side mating to vertical card(s) on the opposite side. This type of optimized interconnect creates a pass-through connection allowing differential pairs on each side of the board to share the same midplane vias.
