Lloyd Cross - Scientist, Inventor, Educator, Artist - 2023 essay by Al Razutis
An overview of some of the contributions of Lloyd Cross to holography, art, science, technology and invention of white-light multiplex motion picture films (integrals) and creation of San Francisco School of Holography. Notably, within this is essay are titles and video links to the first holographic experimental movies created by Lloyd Cross and Simone Forti, both seminal and sometime overlooked figures in the evolution of holography. These works are now relocated to a permanent home and gallery at the The Box LA in Los Angeles, California where they will be preserved in perpetuity.

3D Documentary - Interpetive project drawing on film recorded by Al Razutis and Guillaume Vallée
A documentary & interpretive project on west-coast holographic art, to feature the collections and archives at Visual Alchemy, Saturna Island BC studio has been initiated by Al Razutis and Guillaume Vallée in various audio and video recording sessions in 2021 and 2022.

Studio - Gallery - Holo Archives
Visual Alchemy studios is also home to several art archives, whose purpose is to protect and preserve the special and unique stories contained within them.
A major archive of holography at Visual Alchemy is the Sharon McCormack Collection and Archives which contain not only her stories but the stories and works of Lloyd Cross & Multiplex invention, and stories of the San Francisco School of Holography.
These stories are directly contemporary to the activities, histories and archives of Visual Alchemy holgraphy by Al Razutis (1972 - present).
Holo Archives on Web Videos:
Initially in the 1990's we hosted our own videos of all things media (film, video, holography) at our expense on our own rented servers. Times have changed. Most of our web archives in movie form reside on You Tube now for permanent public accessibility. Original film and DVD sales, however, are still maintained on this web site.

Sample hologram projection unit - display unit for McCormack Multiplex holographic stereograms ('integrals')- 360 degree motorized cylinder & walk-around view. The 3D image with horizontal parallax only 'floats' in the center of a moving cyliner which is illuminated by a white light bulb. The 3D images move in various actions and in slow motion.

This remarkable Collection and Archive, which includes Archives of Multiplex Co. of San Francisco and San Francisco School of Holography is stored and preserved at Visual Alchemy Studio. This work can be leased or rented for exhibition purposes.
This collection includes many original multiplex holograms created in San Francisco by Sharon, Lloyd Cross, and other members of this group. Also included is extensive documentation and samples from the San Francisco School of Holography of the early 1970' which was one of the first independent schools of holography in the world.
Example holograms of many subjects, including commercial work in embossed holography by Sharon and others can be leased for exhibitions, short term or long term. To read the terms see Terms of Collection Leases which would apply to both individual works and groups of works leased for exhibition. The minimum lease period is 30 days. Please
