Age too work at McDonalds.

Question Posted Friday November 11 2005, 5:13 pm

I want to raise enough money to buy a nano iPod but many places you have to be 16 to work at. My friend told me that to work at McDonalds you can be 14(my current age) Does anyone know if this is true?

P.S-I know there food is the worst for you but I'm working there for the money.

Just want to say, good for you for wanting to work!

Some places do let 14 year olds work, but look into what paper work you need.

I'm not too sure about Canada's age requirements, but here in the U.S. you have to be 16 years old or 15 years old with a work permit. I'd advise you to hold of on getting a job until you are 16, though. Jobs pretty much take up the better part of your free time, and you've got your whole life to go to work. Enjoy the free time while you can get it.

no i think you must be 16 to work at a public place because its against the law to hire someone underaged sry but there are some small local businesses that will hire 14 yr olds good luck

Yes, it's true, but they dont let you prepare food or anything, i'm not sure if they let you work at the register or not, so you'll have to find that out.If you don't get in at Macdonalds, they hire at the age of 14 at Dairy Queen!
hope i helped!! &hearts &hearts &hearts

Why not a paper round? Ring McDonalds and see if that's true. You can work in a corner shop if they don't sell alcohol/cigerettes!

If the age is 14 (I think it varies by state), you need a special work release to work there. You'll have to go to your local Secretary of State branch to recieve one. Good luck working, however, don't pile too much onto yourself. Make sure you give yourself time to be your own age. :)
