Founded in 1902, Arkas’ main business fields are agency services, port services and integrated logistics services combining sea, land, rail and air transportation. Arkas Holding currently operates in 24 countries with 59 offices, 14 of which are in Turkey. Headquartered in Izmir, Arkas is an international holding that has 8300 employees working in its 66 companies.

 

Arkas has been building a fleet of vessels since 1996 which currently comprises of 50 container vessels and is Turkey’s largest container operator. The fleet also includes 1 bulk carrier and 6 bunker barges. Arkas Line is providing liner container services in the Mediterranean, Black Sea, West Africa and North Europe. Arkas has been one of the biggest contributors to Turkey’s foreign trade by being a prominent player in private port management. While providing services with Marport, the highest volume container- handling port of the last 10 years in Turkey and Autoport, Turkey’s first car terminal, Arkas acquired the partnership of Terminal del Golfo port located in La Spezia, Italy, to make use of its know-how in the port sector abroad as well.

 

Arkas Logistics, founded in 1989, provides transportation services by sea, air, land and railroad for both standard and bulk cargo, as well as multimodal and tailored project transport, forwarding and warehousing services. Arkas Logistics boasts a total of over 413,000-m2 open-air container area, and 12,000 m2 indoor warehousing area across Istanbul, Izmir, Bursa, Mersin, Konya, Kayseri, Gaziantep, Izmit and Iskenderun. With its 700 railcars, 1,250 open containers suitable for railway transport, approximately 500 towing trucks, numerous loading-unloading equipment and vehicles, as well as its vast warehousing facilities, Arkas Logistics is providing tailor-made transport services to its customers.

 

DB Schenker Arkas, founded in 1995, in partnership with Europe’s largest land and rail transportation company DB Schenker continues its services.
