The Arab British Centre is a cultural organisation which works to further understanding of the Arab world in the United Kingdom. We organise and promote cultural and artistic events, and host a community of like-minded resident organisations at our central London premises.
History
The Arab British Centre was founded in 1977. Compelled by poor media representation and apparent widespread ignorance of the Arab world, the centre was established by a collective of British organisations with generous financial support from H. H. Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan El Nahyan.
Mission and Vision
The Arab British Centre aims to further understanding of the Arab world by promoting its culture, sharing its knowledge and supporting a community of individuals and organisations that work to enhance friendship and collaboration between people of the UK and the Arab world.
Who We Are
Throughout the past 40 years The Arab British Centre has grown and diversified its work whilst staying true to its founding mission to encourage understanding of the Arab world and promote Arab culture in the United Kingdom, supporting over 30 like-minded organisations since its establishment.
Residents
Since its establishment in 1977, The Arab British Centre has supported more than thirty resident organisations, providing subsidised work space. Today, residents continue to have the opportunity to grow and develop their work alongside like-minded individuals and benefit from the networks and promotion offered by The Arab British Centre.
Charity
The Arab-British Centre Ltd was incorporated on 5th June 1975 and is registered in England and Wales as a private company limited by guarantee (Company No. 1215037).
