Action for Public Transport (N.S.W.) Inc.

is a transport consumer group, operating around Sydney. Our funds derive almost entirely from membership fees. Our members are users and beneficiaries of public transport.

Meet: We meet on Friday evenings from 5:30 p.m. to about 6 p.m. We gather at the lower concourse, University of Technology Sydney building 1, Broadway (between Harris & Jones streets).

Reports of many past meetings are available.

We have published many printed newsletters, frequent media releases, discussion papers, etc.

Read our 2011, 2010, 2009, 2008, 2007, 2005, 2004, 2003, 2002 and 2001 annual reports.

See APTNSW's views on light rail and a discussion of the pros and cons of light rail.

Action for Public Transport (N.S.W.) was formed in 1974 as the Save Public Transport Committee in response to a threat by the then New South Wales government to downgrade Sydney's public transport system.

We are not tied to any business organisation, trade union, political party or government department. However, we frequently liaise with governments, transport operators and other commuter and environmental groups, both in Australia and overseas.

This website may not be as pretty as some, but it is quick loading, fairly accessible to hand-held devices and text-only browsers, and low maintenance. APT prefers to devote its time to advocacy!
