{Ed002's Note - Santiago Gimenez (S) Having another good season at Feyenoord and attracting interest of Chelsea, Lille, Spurs, Real Madrid, Napoli and Eintracht Frankfurt. He has become the first choice Harry Kane replacement for Spurs after they lost out on their preferred option last summer but not first choice for Chelsea or Real Madrid - although don't discount either. Spurs have an advantage that Feyenoord are interested in a Spurs player, Barcelona may offer a wildcard option following a discussion between Deco and someone they are trying to recruit. Arsenal sent scouts but have a preferred option. Others, such as Marseille, Crystal Palace and West Ham can be discounted. Lille and Eintracht Frankfurt would only be viable if they make significant sales and others drop out. Cost could be pretty high - they will look for perhaps €55M - ending interest of most of these clubs. Don't discount Napoli who are planning for life after Osimhen. I expect Spurs to push.}

It’s been a minute. Raising a mini-gooner now, which has taken up a lot of time but still check in on the page (almost) daily.
Youssouf Fofana would seem like a shrewd bit of business. Any truth to that story?

{Ed002's Note - Youssouf Fofana (CM/DM) Chelsea have strong ties with Monaco and the clubs have discussed him but he is not first choice for Chelsea. Manchester United may see him as an option but he would not be a direct Casemiro replacement. However, MIlan and Juventus have declared an interest and the wages would not be an issue with local tax laws and Milan may push now. Arsenal provide another option as they seek a replacement for Partey and Jorginho. A wildcard would be PSG.

{Ed002's Note - William Saliba (CB) Real Madrid have scouted Saliba and spoken with his agent. But he is not first choice for them and likely further down the list of options. The player has always said he would like to move to PSG.
Gabriel Magalhaes (CB) Arsenal rejected an approach from Juventus and another from Al-Ittihad last summer. I am not aware of any recent approaches.}

This is where will show our worth. We will always get interest for our players and that's a mark of quality players that we have. I am glad we were able to rebuff any interest in Gabriel last summer I hope we can do te same again this summer. We can not dream of selling our best players if we want to remain in contention with Mancity we need to get stronger not stay the same or become weaker.

Hey ED. A name that’s not been thrown about nor have I seen on this page but has been linked ti Arsenal in the past with Arteta is Rashford. A very inconsistent player tho on his day, almost unmarkable w the quality to score a wild goal out of no where not to mention can play in a couple of positions. Thoughts on him?

I’ve heard rashfords name being associated with us over the weekend and today I’m seeing it all over social media. I hope we stay clear of him. Too many things happening off the pitch for him which has affected his performance on the pitch. Great potential but not for us. However this desire guy from France is what we need i think. I have tried searching his name in search and have not been able to find anything maybe I’m not using it correctly but would like to hear more about him and Ed’s opinion of him.

A third-party has spoken to clubs, including Juventus and Arsenal about him on behalf of Manchester United, but I am not aware of any serious interest and both clubs have other targets. Spurs may offer a wildcard solution to replace Richarlison. Suggestion that he could be a Mbappe replacement at PSG seem far-fetched given they have other clear targets in mind.

Desire Doue (AM/LW) The player is young and talented but rather moody and has decided to leave with him apparently desparate to move to PSG. Borussia Dortmund see him as a replacement for Jadon Sancho, and Manchester IUnited want him to replace Antony. Arsenal, Spurs and RBL have sent scouts. Last summer Chelsea considered him as an AM on the advice of an ex-player and they could potentially look again. Bayer Leverkusen will look to him as a potential Florian Wirtz replacement if needs be. A wildcard would be PSG or perhaps Bayern Munich. Rennes will seek €75M for him which will end most interest.}

Any chance of Arsenal getting a player like de Jong or Tchumeni as Partey replacement. Are arsenal looking for anyone in particular?

{Ed002's Note - Bruno Guimaraes (DM) Real Madrid and Barcelona maintain an interest but he is not top of the list for either although Barcelona may switch their attention to him but would want to offer players in any deal. Chelsea interest has likely gone but Manchester City remain keen. Newcastle need to avoided FFP issues and he may well be one to leave. Long-term Arsenal interest went with the signing of Rice although they are looking to replace Partey, Elneny and Jorginho and he may become first choice with Zubimendi likely not available. PSG may offer a summer option if Ugarte departs.
Manuel Ugarte (DM) Agent has said that the player and PSG may be open to a move if the right offer is made. He has spoken with Chelsea but it is difficult to see if they have a need. He has also spoken with Juventus, Newcastle, Milan, Spurs and Arsenal. I suspect Italy is the most likely destination.
Amadou Onana (DM/CB/CM) Only moved to Everton in 2022 and they are not looking to sell him but with troubles mounting they may have to listen to offers. West Ham interest has returned and Arsenal may look again after failing to agree alternatives, but they must now be seen as a wildcard option. Newcastle spoke with Everton in the summer and have failed to sign their primary DM/CM target but could return again this summer. Manchester United had him a long way down their list of targets but failed to sign preferred options in the summer and he may still be of interest, but I rather doubt it. Chelsea interest has gone. Barcelona may look to some horse trading but they have to deal with their own financial issues. Real Madrid may look to a player plus cash deal, but he would largely be used as cover. Another wildcard could be Bayern Munich if the cannot sign Palhinho - but they may have a new coach in the summer. Everton will look to trying to raise £60M.
Manuel Locatelli (DM) Opted to move to Juventus on a two year loan with an obligation to buy deal over the interest of Shakhtar Donetsk and Arsenal in 2021. Arsenal offer him a wildcard option for this summer. Joshua Kimmich (DM/RB) Bayern Munich will now make him available in the summer unless he agrees to a new contract, a significant fee of around €90M would be sought - well beyond what interested sides Barcelona or Manchester City would pay for a 28 year old on €400k per week although Manchester City may well look to find a solution that suits everybody. However, talks have already been held with Al Ahli over a move. A wildcard option would be Manchester United or perhaps Arsenal.
Joao Palhinha (DM/CM) Fulham will not look to sell unless a huge offer is made and the player asks for a move. All interest except that of Bayern Munich, Arsenal and possibly Newcastle will have gone with the signing of a new contract although Manchester United and Liverpool have had a will respected ex PL and high-end independent scout watch the player on their behalf - although both have other targets. Agent has spoken with Manchester City and Chelsea, and either may offer an option. Fulham will still look to replacements as they fear the player could have his head turned by Bayern Munich or Arsenal, who see him as an option to Trindade, who Fulham are also keen on. He will be 29 at the start of next season.
Martin Zubimendi (CM/DM) Barcelona may still look to an offer although they are looking at preferred options first and would likely want to include a player in any deal. Bayern Munich, Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea have sent scouts with Arsenal declaring an interest with his club. Bayern Munich see the cost of his release clause as too high. Real Sociedad may look to refusing a transfer unless his buy out clause is met in full. Player wants Barcelona and may stay another year to try and get a move in 2025.
Hugo Larsson (CM/DM) Youngster who joined Frankfurt in the summer of 2023 from Malmo has attracted scouts from Arsenal and Newcastle. Arsenal may well look to a summer offer but EF will refuse to sell.
Douglas Luiz (CM/DM) No longer an option.
Pablo Maia (DM/CB) No longer an option.
Morten Hjulmand (DM/CM) No longer an option.
Ezequiel Fernandez (DM) No longer and option.}

{Ed002's Note - Benjamin Sesko (S/F) RBL could be offered a quick profit. His agent has not stopped offering the player around since his move to RBL. Described by a well known ex-Premier League player and high-end scout as "raw but improving". Was on the list for Spurs as a potential Kane replacement but their interest has moved on to another player. Newcastle enquired as they are concerned they will lose Isak - but continue to struggle to sell their project to players and will look to keep hold of Isak over Guimaraes. Chelsea spoke with his agent but have a preferred option who looks likely to join. Milan offer an option as a potential Giroud replacement and they are looking at adding two strikers this coming summer. Arsenal have met with his agent but he appears to only be second choice for them still. A option for Manchester United who need to replace Anthony Martial this summer - but Sesko will not move to simply be cover so that needs to be clarified.}

Hi Ed02 is there any truth in the rumour of Aaron Ramsdale to Newcastle? The reason I ask is because I would have thought Nick Pope was their number one and Ramsdale would be sitting on a different bench . Thanks in advance COYG.

Wolves are very concerned about losing Sa and are keen to take Ramsdale to replace him but have other options. Milan are the same with Maignan. Newcastle may offer a good solution that will be of interest to the player. A wildcard could be West Ham.}
