Marinetti - TCP/IP for the Apple IIgs

Marinetti is the only TCP/IP stack available for the Apple IIGS, clean room developed from the RFCs, and written completely in 65c816 assembly language.

TCPIP30b11.SHK	This is the fourth pubic release of Marinetti by the Marinetti Open Source Project. This is beta software but it should be considered stable. If you want to use this then you will also need Marinetti3.0b1.SHK below. Version: 3.0b11 Released: 17th July 2019 Size: 35K
PPPX.1.3d4.SHK	This is the Scripted PPP link layer that includes the MS-CHAP authentication protocol. This is development software but it has proven to be stable. If you want to use this then you will also need Marinetti3.0b1.SHK below. Version: 1.3d4 Released: 7th March 2005 Size: 22K
Marinetti3.0b1.SHK	This is the first release of Marinetti by the Marinetti Open Source Project. This is a full installation of all the components of Marinetti packaged in an installer. It is recommended to use this when installing Marinetti for the first time on a new volume. This is beta software but it has proven to be stable. If you want to use any of the files above then you will need this. Includes the first public release of the MacIP link layer and the PPP link layers that support the CHAP authentication protocol. NOTE: Binscii is not supported by any of the major online services as a standard Apple II encapsulation method, and is therefore not provided for on this site. It has however been used for email and Usenet postings, but that's beside the point. The Apple II FAQs which are currently being posted to comp.sys.apple2 are incorrect, and should be ignored.

DEVELOPER SUPPORT

If you are using, or are considering using, Marinetti from your own programs, you will need the Marinetti Programmers' Guide, which is available as an Adobe Acrobat .PDF (MarProgGuide.pdf). *Revised 20th May 2001. However, a full hard copy version, along with a disk containing useful development tools, is also available from Syndicomm. See above.

For help of a more human nature, there is a developer support mailing list for discussion of Marinetti development issues, such as bug workarounds, compatability, coding assistance etc.

TCP/IP is a very new concept for many Apple IIGS programmers, and this list should help make up for possibly being "thrown in at the deep end."

Additionally, this list is the only place where you can get OFFICIAL Marinetti developer support.
