Team development is used to effectively get a new, or older group, to become stronger together and achieve set goals. In this process, the key lies in the teams ability to get to know, and use, each others strengths and weaknesses. To see their strength in their diversity. Through the process, the group gains the ability to develop and reach a deeper stage of awareness together. They become a merged team.
Supervised team development means that an individual, external to the group and trained in team development, leads the group in a process to reach deeper knowledge of the groups strengths and weaknesses. The supervisor also facilitates the groups development of their ability to chooses how to handle/use their newly found knowledge.
